Sarah and her husband are Michigan natives who have since called Colorado Springs home for the last 18 years.  She has a degree and background in education from Colorado Christian University and was led into birth work with CAPPA in 2014 after her own positive birth experiences with a midwife.

Sarah loves her CrossFIt & Ultimate community, bouldering, and biking. When she's not chauffeuring her four children around to their various sports and activities, they enjoy being outside together with their golden retriever.

"One of my favorite things about doula work is that every birthing day is unique! Yet each birth leaves me in awe of the strength, grace, and surrender that each woman finds as she births her baby."
- Sarah

Hope Ezell

Hope's passion for birth support was ignited by the support that her own doula gave her during her first unmedicated birth! After training with HERBAL, Hope mentored with this same doula for several years as she began her journey of supporting families full time in 2021. Although originally from Alabama, she and her husband have lived in Colorado Springs for 9 years now. Hope has given birth to 6 children, but experienced the devastating infant loss of her first son. She and her husband Thomas are raising their daughter and four sons to love camping, hiking and exploring Colorado.

"As I’ve attended births, it’s only become clearer how important this work is to me, and how much I love being there for moms through some of the most important hours of their lives."
- Hope

"I truly believe I have the best job in the world! To witness the fierce power and intuition a woman possess to bring her baby into this world, followed by the soft moments of wonder as parents meet their brand new baby… there's really nothing else in this world like it."
- Madi

Colorado Springs Doulas: Our Story

After working as solo doulas & backups for each other since 2016, Sarah and Madison realized the greater need for partnership and collaborative care for their clients. Merging their businesses together has allowed them to expand care to even more birthing families, all while fostering a more sustainable on-call lifestyle for their own families. In 2025, they added Hope to the team, who had already been supporting families in Colorado Springs for several years and was also looking forward to joining a partnership model of providing doula care.

Madison, Sarah and Hope are each Birth Assistants at Beginnings Birth Center and remain current in their NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation) and birth emergency skills. All three share a similar practice style and calming presence in the birth space and are approved doulas on the Beginnings Birth Center doula list. Our team model ensures that you have access to doula support 24/7 for guidance during your pregnancy, birth and postpartum period. During your initial meet and greet, you'll have the opportunity to meet with the team to ensure that no matter which doula is on call during your birth, you are met with a familiar face that understands your unique needs and will work seamlessly and intuitively with your partner and care team to help empower and encourage you as you birth your baby!

We are each highly skilled in labor positioning/Spinning Babies, natural comfort measures and pain management options for labor, as well as experts in helping families undergo a physiological birth with minimal intervention (if that's the desire). We're also experienced in supporting families having a high risk pregnancy, surrogacy, IVF, pregnancy after loss, and those families preparing for an induction or cesarean section. With a combined 600+ births attended, our team loves to come alongside families to help them experience birth in the way that they are hoping to!
